Don't Let Me Go...

For days on end, I have been streaming video snippets of Shrek the Musical, the $25M theater adaptation of this groundbreaking, fairy tale-cliche-shattering movie..
How I'd love to fly to Broadway, pay a hefty $1,150-ticket and watch a green ogre's fairytale unfold right before my eyes.
Many have expressed discontent over this particular adaptation; i really don't mind them.
If any at all, just to see "I Know It's Today", "Don't Let Me Go", "The Travel Song", "This Is How A Dream Comes True", "Morning Person", and "The Ballad of Farquaad" will be worth it.
I love Lea Salonga...
No explanations needed.
But now, Sutton Foster grew on me.

Perhaps, one of the songs this musical might be able to boast of is its Act I closing number, "Who I'd Be".

I guess I'd be a hero, with sword and armor clashing
Looking semi-dashing, a shield within my grip.
Or else I'd be a Viking, and live a life of daring
While smelling like a herring, upon a Viking ship.
I'd sail away, I'd see the world, I'd reach the farthest reaches
I'd feel the wind, I'd taste the salt and sea.
And maybe storm some beaches.
That's who I'd be... That's who I'd be.

I could be a poet, write a different story,
One that tells of glory, and wipes away the lies...
And to the skies I'd throw it, the stars would do the telling,
The moon would help with spelling, and night would dot the "i"s.
I'd write a verse, recite a joke, with wit and perfect timing.
I'd share my heart, profess the things I yearn, and do it all while rhyming.
But we all learned... But we all learned.

An ogre always hides, an ogre's fate is known...
An ogre always stays in the dark and all alone.

So yes I'd be a hero, and if my wish was granted
My life would be enchanted, or so the stories say.
Of course I'd be a hero, and I would scale a tower...
To save a hot house flower, and carry her away
But standing guard there'd be a beast, I'd somehow ovewhelm it,
I'd get the girl, I'd take a breath, and I'd remove my helmet.

We'd stand and stare, we'd speak of love, we'd feel the stars ascending,
We'd share a kiss, I'd find my destiny...
I'd have a hero's ending, a perfect happy ending.
That's how it would be,
A big, bright, beautiful world...

But not for me.

The Hedgehog's Dilemma

The closer you get to others, the more you hurt them. But the further you go to stay away, the lonelier and colder you get.
As the days wind by before me, I find it very much difficult to conceal the way I really feel. I need detachment... BUT I REALLY DON'T WANT TO. Please stay... Please?

Adieu 2008

Today is the last day of 2008.
And I say that with a relief that this year is over.
As many of you can relate to, 2008 has been very rough.
A lot of hurdles, obstacles, dilemmas, problems...
Sometimes, you're just caught off-guard.

As of publish time, there are roughly 13:31 hours left to go...
PUTUKAN NA NAMAN!

Seeing that yet another new year is upon us, here I go with my very first...

For 2009, I promise to keep things simple.
No more useless over-analysis...
No more trivial non-sense...
No more unsolicited exaggerations...
No more...

The same goes for this list.
In fact, I'm keeping it so simple, this list ends with just one bullet.
  • For 2009, I promise to be happy... and stay happy.

Get to know yourself better - The Real You

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

One of the few times i actually do this surveys and post them on my site.
Grabbed Get to know yourself better from Che, who grabbed from Marx.
Real friends, tell me what you think...

I also tried another test, The Real You.
Here's what it had to say:

Here is the analysis:

  1. You've got great self-confidence and you're full of charm. Most guys who get to know you will be attracted to you. You are far from sweet and proper; your intriguing personality fascinates them. Most guys find it easy to fall for a girl like you.
  2. You really care about other people's feelings and are quite serious about the issues that affect your life. You are sincere, and your concern for the well-being of others makes many people want to be your friend.
  3. You are a bright, cheerful and bubbly person. You are thoughtful and considerate, and like to have fun. Everybody feels comfortable around you because of your pleasant nature. When you walk into a room, people's eyes are likely to be drawn to you because of your charm.
  4. Your peers think of you as a fun person, but sometimes you can be a little irresponsible. You can be somewhat childish, and can try to ignore the fact that you will one day need to really grow up and be a mature adult! Perhaps you could start reading good books; they might help you look at the world in a different light. You do want to be taken seriously, right?
  5. Your boyfriend thinks that you are a real doll but this is not a totally positive thing. Sometimes you can be a bit too sweet, and come across as being helpless. If you're like this too frequently, your boyfriend and other people are likely to get tired of you having to rely on them all the time.

Try both tests here:

JUST DIE,WILL YOU?

This is me.

DEAL WITH IT, YOU STUPID BITCH.

Friday, May 2, 2008

I might have forgotten to mention...

Where have all the good times gone?
A lot has happened since we last talked, really talked.
Least of all priorities, is it too trivial to borrow some of your time?
Actuality. Accompany. Afable?

Look back, reflect, and realize.
A lot has happened since we last conversed.
Now, do i even know you?
Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire.

It has been quite a while.

Nothing has changed, save for everything else.

Revitalize. Refresh. Reboot.

I want this.

I wanted this.

Will i still want this?
